New Book I am Loving : Vampire Academy.๐Ÿ“–

Hey Everyone. Last night I started to read The Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead and OMG I am in love with it. I just had to tell you about it. I first heard about this book on Elle's book review video on Youtube ( AllThatGlitters21)Also the book turned into a movie which I have not seen yet but it's on my watch list. I want to read the books before I watch the movie. When Elle was reviewing it on her Youtube the book didn't really appeal to me as I am not someone who likes Vampire stories. Anyway I thought I would try it one day so I added the book to my wishlist on my IBooks and last night I finally had a little read just to see if I would like it or not. Before I knew it I was 3 Chapters in and completely sucked in.

Vampire Academy tells the legend of Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir, Two 17 year old girls who attend to a hidden boarding school for Moroi ( Mortal, Peaceful, Vampires) and Dhampires ( Half vampire/half human). Lissa is a mortal vampire with a rare gift for harnessing the earth's magic. She must be protected from Strigoi ( The fiercest vampires who never die ). A powerful blend of human and vampire blood that flows through her best friend Rose who is a Dhampire has to protect Lissa. After two years of freedom, Rose and Lissa are caught and are dragged back to St Vladimir's Academy, They have to navigate their dangerous world, confront the temptations of forbidden love, never let their guard down, attend terrifying night time rituals, ruthless social scene but most of all, stay alive.

I am so in love with this book, I love the characters, the way it is written and how the author makes you feel and see everything that the characters do. I am that in love with the series that I already bought the 2nd book called Frostbite. I will do a full review once I have finished the book, but I just wanted to come on here and tell anyone that is a book lover read Vampire Academy even if you are not a vampire lover like me, you will be sucked into this book. I will be back soon, please subscribe by email and follow me on my social media links ( links in the sidebar) and if you are a beauty lover like myself, please check out my beauty blog Kim's Got Gloss

How To Enjoy Reading! ๐Ÿ“–

Hello Everyone! Welcome to Kim's Little Book Corner. For the first post on this blog I thought I would share my tips on how I make reading more fun and enjoyable. If you are a reader or starting to read this is just cute ideas to make reading not so boring. For me I love reading, curling up in bed with a good book is pure happiness. It's a great time to enjoy relaxing and having a quiet and cozy escape from the busy, stressed world but doing the same routine can make reading boring sometimes so I do like to switch it up. Happy Reading xo

Finding What To Read.
I think the most obvious but main tip is to know what to read. So many books out there, it can get a little overwhelming. What helps me is looking on sites like GoodReads. Goodreads is kind of like a facebook for books, You can read reviews, write reviews, rate books, search for books, get recommendations and find new books to read. I love goodreads because I have found some amazing books through that site. I think researching on books, or looking at blogs or sites like goodreads help you pick out books, get a feel of what the book is like and also help you find what you like/dont like. I will post some of my favourite books soon and do reviews on them.

Reading Routine.
Each night or every time you read making a little enjoyable routine will make you want to read more. I love making a hot drink sometimes, lighting candles, turning on my fairy lights, cuddling up with a blanket and reading for however long I want. I think reading in a cosy environment makes my reading time feel that little bit extra snuggly. Adding little things like candles, lights or your favourite hot drink will make you feel more relaxed and you will look forward to having your " me time"

Reading Environment
Reading every night is good but switching it up sometimes can make your reading time more pleasurable. I love reading in a hot candle lit bubble bath. That makes me so relaxed, calm and it feels amazing to soak in the tub with a good novel. Reading in the morning can also be so relaxing and wake you up gently while your enjoying your breakfast or morning coffee. Getting cosy on the sofa, wrapped in a snuggly blanket in the afternoon is also perfect. Sitting outside in the sun, on the beach or even in the park. Changing up your routine/environment will make your reading so much more fun.

Book Reviewing/ blogging.
I think blogging about books or reviewing books on a site can give you a sort of goal to reach at the end. It's just a fun little goal to reach once you have finished your book you can let people know your thoughts, rants or raves on the book. Or joining an online or in person book club can be so fun, reading with others, chatting about the book, sharing opinions and coming to the end of the book all together is so nice.

Next...
If you are reading a book that you cannot get into for whatever reason, put it away and read something else. Sticking with a book that is not enjoyable or interesting to you will just not make your reading time nice. I know some people just read the book to finish it, but for me if I can't get into a book, or the book is to slow I put it away and move on to the next. Trust me you will be more happier moving on then sticking to something slow and boring.

More Than One...
I read a tip a few years ago to read more than one book. Keep a book lighthearted, a little less intense for nighttime as this will make your eyes more tired, and you won't be reading till naughty o'clock in the early morning hours. Keep your intense, exciting, page turners for the daytime/me time. As you will want to read and make the effort to take  time in the day to read that book. These are just little tips I have read along the way, that helped me and made reading for me a little more fun.

They are my top tips for reading, enjoying reading and making it more enjoyable. I hope to see you back soon when I post my reviews/hauls on books. Welcome To Kim's Little Book Corner.๐Ÿ“–

Hello and a warm welcome to Kim's Little Book Corner. I am Kimberley Simpson, 20 years old from Liverpool. I have a beauty blog ( Kims Got Gloss ) that is a place I talk all about beauty, make-up, lifestyle, Celeb and gossip. As well as being a beauty lover I also love books. I love reading blogs, watching Youtube videos all on book hauls/reviews. I did do a page on my beauty blog called Book Corner but I hated the layout and the fact that it was all one big post instead of separate posts on that page. I thought I would do a little blog on the side for a cosy little book corner. This blog is a little warm cosy gossip about books, reviews, hauls and just a cosy little place for book lovers. I hope you subscribe by email so you don't miss any of my posts, check out my beauty blog KimsGotGloss and follow me on all social media
( Links in the side bar )
Grab a coffee, a cosy blanket and let's curl up with a book.
